What is homeschool.ie?
Homeschool.ie is an online grinds service for Leaving and Junior Certificate students that will allow each student to cover the entire theory element of a subject syllabus over the course of a single school year.
How does it work?
We release a video lesson every Monday during our two term school year. Each lesson covers a specific area of the course and contains an outstanding set of notes and sample answers on each topic. Your subject teacher will guide you through any problems or questions you have throughout the school year as well as assigning you a weekly homework task for you to complete.
When does the school year start?
The 2018/19 school year begins on Monday the 24th September 2018 and runs for 12 weeks. The second term begins on the 7th January 2019. There are 24 weekly video lessons in total.
Is there a limit to how many times I can view each lesson?
Once a lesson is released it can be viewed as many times as a student wants to during the school year. Each school year lasts from September until the following August.
Can I enrol even if I am not in an Examination year?
Yes. We have Junior and Leaving Certificate students enrolled in our courses from all year groups.
What devices does homeschool.ie work on?
Students can gain access to their weekly classes using any regular laptop, desktop computer or mobile device with an internet connection.
Can I study an extra subject at homeschool.ie for my State Examinations?
Yes. You can use homeschool.ie to take an extra subject as the entire syllabus is completed in one year. However, if you are attending a secondary school and studying an extra subject, you must ensure that the school has registered you for that subject.
I am a mature student and I wish to sit my Leaving Certificate Exam next year. Can I study with homeschool.ie?
Yes, but mature students must ensure that they are fully registered as an external candidate. More information on the registration process is available at https://www.examinations.ie
Can homeschool.ie teachers accept project work for the purposes of assessment with the State Examinations Commission?
No. Homeschool.ie teachers are currently unable to accept any project work for the purposes of assessment for the State Examinations. This is something we are actively seeking to change.
Can I receive a refund after I have enrolled?
We are confident that students will enjoy our online teaching platform therefore only in very exceptional circumstances, will management consider refunding a part of any fees paid.To apply for a refund send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, clearly stating your name, the email address associated with your account and a detailed description for your reasons for requesting the refund.

What time of year can you enroll in a subject?
You can enrol in a subject at any time of the year. When you enrol you will get immediate access to the entire course. Access to your online course including all of the lessons, notes and teacher support available for this school year will end on the 31st August 2019.
